Simon Holt
Executive Director
Simon brings to WAA wide-ranging skills, which include his not-for-profit experience in education and the arts, as well as a personality characterized by an understated warmth and wry sense of humor.
Educated in England as a musician, Simon founded Salt Marsh Opera in Stonington, Connecticut, which he has now led for over twenty years as Artistic Director and General Manager. In addition to his freelance work as a musician, he has also served as the Executive Director of Calvary Music School, the Thames Valley Music School, and the United Theatre.
Having helped to raise millions of dollars for the various projects and institutions he has headed, Simon will now bring his extensive fundraising experience to WAA.

As we celebrate the Washington Art Association’s seventieth anniversary, we are also building a vibrant future. Our membership is growing, enrollment in our classes is increasing, our leadership team is accomplished, and our Trustees are engaged and enthusiastic. We have established new collaborative relationships with peer organizations, and we are honored by the patronage of both longtime and new supporters.
It is a pleasure to work in partnership with so many talented and devoted members and staff who are committed to realizing the future of the Washington Art Association as a vital locus for compelling art exhibitions and instruction in our community and beyond.
